Boothbay resident Bob Devine has had an affection for the ocean since he was a young boy. He and his late wife owned a variety of sailboats over the years, cruising the waters of New England, California and Mexico. In the mid 80's they met Doug, a delivery boat captain. In the course of the next ten plus years, Bob crewed with Doug, delivering boats up and down the west coast of Mexico and Central America. This past September, Bob was asked to join Doug in the delivery of a 50' Beneteau sailboat from the British Virgin Islands to Cabo on the Baja Peninsula. The trip is documented by over 100 slides and interesting fact- filled dialogue, providing an evening of adventure and entertainment for the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library's February 4th Armchair Traveler, beginning at 6:30 p.m.. If you are interested in hearing and seeing more of Bob's adventure, please sign up by calling the library at 633-3112 or by emailing Barb House at
