EXTRA Literary Luncheon with News Anchor Jack Perkins
Friday, June 14, 2013, 11:45am

(Taken from Amazon.com) For twenty-five years, millions of Americans watched Jack Perkins on NBC News as a correspondent, commentator, and anchorman. People were familiar with his face, his bearing, and his rich, reassuring bass. Yet at the age of fifty-two and at the height of his career, Jack Perkins disappeared from the public eye and moved with his wife, Mary Jo, to a bare-necessities cabin on an uninhabited island off the coast of Maine. This isolated home they came to call Moosewood was the setting for Jack and Mary Jo's spiritual awakening. Jack Perkins' new book is Finding Moosewood, Finding God. He is on a book tour through the Northeast and is planning to speak at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library’s EXTRA Literary Luncheon at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, June 14. Cost of the lunch is $10 and is catered by Red Cup. Please sign up early at the library as space is limited.
